Inspired by a classic advent story told about Ferdinand Sertl. Ferdinand was a local tower watchman and bandmaster who had epilepsy. Ferdinand placed a small handcarved wax figure of the Christ Child in a hollowed area of a tree, and afterward was cured of epilepsy. Located in Steyr, Austria, Christkindl Church is built near the site where a pilgrimage to honor the Christ Child first began in 1695. 6.5 x 7.5 x 9.5" 2009 collection.
